National Hepatitis Awareness Month: May

for Health Care Providers

National Hepatitis Awareness Month

Campaign Description

Please join us in raising awareness about hepatitis throughout the month of May, including Hepatitis Testing Day on May 19.

For Hepatitis Awareness Month, we are spreading the word about hepatitis B vaccination. Did you know that hepatitis B vaccination is now recommended for all adults aged 19-59? This new, expanded recommendation will help protect adults from the hepatitis B virus. The hepatitis B virus attacks the liver and can cause lifelong infection, cirrhosis (scarring) of the liver, liver cancer, and death. But the good news is that the vaccine is safe and very effective at preventing infection. Learn more about viral hepatitis with the resources below.
