Question 11 of 17
Answer
d. Hemochromatosis
Hemochromatosis rarely causes elevations in aminotransferases and when it does, these are mild elevations and occur chronically. Acetaminophen is a direct hepatotoxin that causes dose-dependent hepatocellular injury. Acute hepatic vein thrombosis (Budd-Chiari syndrome) and ischemic hepatitis cause a centrilobular hepatocellular ingestion through congestion and ischemia, respectively.
