B. Blood supply to the liver is only through the hepatic artery

The liver, the largest organ in the body, has a dual blood supply: hepatic artery and portal vein. In the normal liver 75% of the blood supply to the liver comes from the portal vein. The portal triad is composed by a branch of the hepatic artery, a branch of the portal vein and a branch of the bile duct. Blood from the portal triads travels through hepatic sinusoids, reaching the central hepatic venule and leaving the liver through hepatic veins.
